Leg Bands for Coturnix Quail... anyone know about sizes?

I think I'd worry about the zip ties tightening on the leg eventually and not noticing. Ever had that happen?

I bought food coloring markers so I could daub a dot on them. (no red).

What age do you put them on at? I'm hoping for about a week old or so? I am not sure what day we'll be going to get the other chicks from my friend here in town between our work schedules but I don't want to keep them seperated too long.

I also use the colored zip ties. I by an assortment of colors in the very small size and I get them at Home Depot.
