leg bands or wing tags

I have some younger birds - about 9 weeks old that i want to mark. That way when I mixed them with the other birds I will know their age. I also plan on breeding a mix my dark cornish and my barred rocks. What works best and stay on better. Leg bands or wings clips.

If i understand it, i have to chang the leg bands as the birds grow. Do you change the wing clips also?

Any advise you can offer would be great!

I use colored zip ties until they are old enough for the leg bands. I have never used the wing clips.

how old do they need to be for leg bands? I tried to used very small rubber bands and they came off as fast as I put them on.
