Leg Bands

Read about colored cable zips for id'n birds. Have a package of colored braces bands that I was thinking about trying.

What are you all doing for id'n quail?

My boyfriend and I were talking about trying to find some bands to put around their feet to identify between the different ages.
Let us know how it works out?

i was gonna get some of those smaller color'd zip ties, of course don't tighten it the whole way and clip off the excess

age, names, gender, all are good things to id for

The braces bands work on chicks...I have been using them for chicks...I don't know if they would fit on quail legs or fall off though... I label the cages, not the birds.

I can't afford to build lots of cages, haha. I'd rather use id tags for now until we get bigger.

Oh, no I don't mix them. I've got 3 cages. 1 for adults, 1 for 2-4 week olds and 1 for the babies.

I use zip ties to identify my birds.On the quail I use the small zipties to identify the males (in the breeds that aren't color sexed).Other birds...colors are used for hatches...If you use ruber band types ,you have to be sure to take them off before they get too tight.It can cause them to lose their leg.

Going to try them both. Any problem with any colors? Other then red the color of blood.

Do not want them to go all cannibal on each other.

I Use All Color Zip Ties And They Dont Seem To Even Notice Them Once Their On
