Just got my chicks in this morning and so begins the quest to identify my MM "rainbow layers" assortment! One question, do EE have the greenish/gray legs from hatch, or does that develop as they get older? My last batch of MM EE's all had the green/gray legs but I don't recall if they were always that way.

My Easter Egger had green legs as a chick. I believe that they have green legs from hatching, though I know that some chicken breeds (like ones with blue legs) develop the leg coloration as they get older.

I'd look for puffy cheeks. Those are easier to spot on a young chick than leg tint.

Lots of breeds start with chipmunk stripes but not many breeds are bearded.
