My best call drake was injured Saturday morning. A dog got his foot and pulled in through the bottom of his enclosure. There is no severe cuts or gashed and it does not feel broken but he will not put any weight on it. I am hoping it is just sore. I have him in a conditioning pen inside the barn where he can rest and not move much. Is there anything I can give him to help his healing or anything to look for. I will be devastated if he doesn't make a full recovery. It is always the best one :hit

Pic of him before the injury. I can try to get pics of his leg tonight.

I took this video last night. He was holding in a more natural position when standing but not supporting himself with it much. He doesn't move it much in the water but he can move it. The purple on his foot is wound kote. Thoughts?

Poor guy! :hugs

Use warm water for the therapy swims and add some epsom salts to the water, it will help him with the soreness and in healing... try not to let him drink it though, it's a laxative and it will give him diarrhea...
I'll add some salts to his bath tonight. I have been alternating warm and cool water for him because I thought he might prefer warm but that the cold might do something for the swelling. We definitely don't want to add diarrhea to the mix. He typically doesn't try to drink while he swims as long as he has had plenty of water all day.

Not much change still :( I almost have my breeding pens completed. He is becoming quite grumpy towards me in rehab. I am thinking if he is as determined to reproduce as he is determined to attack my hand when I stick it in his pen he won't have any issues with the ladies. I don't know what to do for him at this point. I hate to put him down but I don't want him to suffer either.
