My bantams all have leg mites. I soaked their legs in gas and then smothered them in a&d ointment as suggested for a treatment from chicken chick. They are out of their coop. My question is how long do mites survive without the host? How should I clean their tractor? and how log should I keep them out of it?

Take out the straw,be sure to burn it.After that clean the coop out with.any chemical things,or hot water and soap.I suggest on leaving the birds out of the coop unril you see more improvement.Be sure to add powder on the hens as well to the coop when your done cleaning it.

Good luck!
