I have two serama rooters and a hen all under a year of age. I have noticed over the past few months their feet are covered in scabs. I've been treating my coop every few months with Permethrin dust i bought with amazon as well as a poultry spray for mites and lice and have been coating their feet in vaseline. It's not seeming to get better and today I noticed my roosters comb turning dark blue/black. All of my chickens I got from the same lady seem to be having the same issues and they are all frizzles. None of my other chickens have these issues with the leg mites or combs turning colors. I also have/had an issue with fowl pox in my area, my neighbors chickens has it as well. What should I do?

Any chance for frostbite on the comb? Not sure how to help with the feet, maybe this bump will get you more replies. Sorry I wasn't more help.
Possibly it's just weird one of the roosters combs was doing that over the summer with 90° + temps. It's getting worse. I believe it was around 30° last night. Just none of my other serama hens are getting this.

My big comb breeds of roosters will also turn purple on their tips when it is very hot, or cold, or he gets stressed out, especially my fat boys. Just like yours. I read that this can be common with big combs.

Edit: I had asked if you have actually put something on their legs to suffocate the mites. And it sounds like you have, how many times did you reapply the vaseline and in what intervals?

I don’t know about the combs, but my chickens have had leg mites, I treated them with a few different things, once I used mayo to suffocate them, like people do when they have lice, if u use mayo make sure to wash the chicken before.

When it comes to leg mites are you a best foods fan or a miracle whip fan? 😆
