Leg problems with my little turkey...:0(

I went away for a couple days and when i got back one of my little turkey's has leg problems.

I was concerned that maybe my boys got in there and dropped him but my husband assures me that the boys did not have any alone time with him.

I am not sure what spraddle looks like but i can only imagine it would be like this. His little legs go outward instead of straight up. I will try to post a picture.

I have them in a cage with a wire bottom so the droppings go down into a tray. The other fella looks fine.

I am afraid that this is not fixable and i'll probably have to cull.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Great whites and BB bronze are the most susceptable to leg problems. they can develop an assortment of leg problems earily. But it can happen to any Turkey chick.

Depending on how advanced it is they may not recover.

Make sure the bedding you use is dry. Change it often if need be.

Start then out with a wild game chick starter.

When more then 1 week old, use a water soulable vetemin supplement in there water. They may not be getting the correct trace minerals to convert the calcium in there feed to proper bone growth.

I had a BR/BS mix poult that had a crippled leg after hatching but she was getting around ok and eating so I had decided to keep her and let her live out her crippled life. I moved her to the outside brooder cage two weeks ago and about 3 days ago I noticed she is walking normally and shows no sign of a problem. I would hold onto the poult for a while if it is getting around and eating and see what happens. You can always cull on down the road a ways.

I had a BB white that developed a leg problem at about 15 lbs but she seemed to do ok on it, so I left her alone and she continued to thrive until the big day came. we made her the first though, everything at processing time was fine as well with her.
