The chickens are recovering well. The one that was injured the worst had three pellets in him.
From what I heard from my
grandparents relay of the vet report, this most injured one was was limping because he dislocated his leg (I think at the hock joint and foot joint??) This must have happened when he was trying to run away from the pellets.
The vet visit was 175$ so my grandfather decided to not have them do any surgery or relocate the joints. They are giving him painkillers and antibiotics, and he needs help eating and drinking.
What do y’all think? Will he recover and be able to walk around again? Do dislocated joints heal on their own but leave a permanent limp? I’m curious about how he will recover, if he does.
