We have brown leghorns for layers and 1 Cornish rock giant pullet left over - but my leghorn rooster who just learned how to crow is trying to get it on with the Cornish - ummmmmmmm...........? will a cornish rock giant even lay eggs - i was under the impression it was a meat bird not a layer - YES I am totaly clueless when it comes to all this first time with the chickens - and will my leghorn pullets go broody - someone told me NO.

Given enough time she rock might lay eggs for you. Leghorns aren't supposed to go broody but very rarely they will.

I have a massive Cornish Rock..they will lay small eggs not that often though-they say less than one a week for them.Ours is my daughters pet chicken so we are going to try for a baby or two.Right now she's still in perfect health so come on eggs:D
I have a leghorn with 8 babies under her wing right now and she's one super Momma. However, she is the exception to the rule.Rest of mine wouldn't consider such a task.
