Leghorn Thread

How rare are yellow/buff leghorns in the US? I just acquired a young trio, and they are amazing little birds! The rooster is the sweetest thing! I hadnt heard of these until i got my 3, and i still cant find very much info on them. They have the leghorn body and comb, but a nice light buff color. They are still young so i expect it to get darker. if anyone has any info on these, it would be greatly appreciated!

One of the poultry Judges raises the Buff Leghorns. I think his last name is Jackson. Very nice guy.

Oh and guess what?

Sorry, I just had too! Lol

The Brown Leghorns I bought as chicks turned out to be Partridge Rocks. They are laying brown eggs.

As chicks they look pretty much the same. Now I have to start from square one with the Brown Leghorns, so now I'm back on the hunt again. They look very similar to this picture posted by @summerb123 except they don't have the white earlobes. I have thought for awhile that they weren't Brown Leghorns so I waited until they started to lay and figured they would probably be brown egg layers and they are.

Gosh, that's a bummer. I've been on the hunt for SOP Brown Leghorns for pretty near a year now but I'm hoping to find some in the next few months. I got 15 straight run from McMurray last October just to have something, anything to work with and they've been doing good but haven't started laying yet.
