I hate that I am asking this but how many weeks should they be before they are processed

Based on how big yours are already, I would process at 6-8 weeks old.

It would take a lot of time and money....

Not as hard as you think, my last Cornish X lived 2 1/2 years and was a great layer. She was healthy but she got attacked. The one I have now is 6 months.

But this persons best bet is to send those to freezer camp and get some laying hens.

Yes if they want to do that then I agree, but some people get super attached and want to keep them because they love them. I was just trying to give them some hope.

But you also can't make it seem likes it's as easy as raising regular chickens...

Def cornish x. Look between 3.5-4.5 lbs. Mine are almost seven weeks. I am processing the ,largest ones tomorrow. (a little over 5 lbs.)

I get that, that’s why I would explain how to care for them and what’s involved if they wanted to try to keep them. They definitely take way more care than normal chickens.
