Lemon Bread Recipe for Miss Prissy

Heat oven to 350
Bake for 45-50 minutes

1 cup of butter (no subsitute)
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
3 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cup milk
Grate lemon peel from 2 lemons.

Squeeze the juice from the 2 lemons set aside.
You will also need to set aside a 1/2 cup sugar.

Cream butter, gradually add sugar cream well. Add eggs and beat well. BLend together dry ingredients alternate with milk blend just to mix. Fold in lemon peels. Turn into 3 greased and light ly floured loaf pans or 5 mini loaf pans. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Combine lemon juice and the 1/2 cup sugar. Poke all over the top of the loaves w/ wooden pick. Immediatly spoon lemon juice mixture over the hot loaves.

Cool 1 hour before removing from pans.
 
This is wonderful! I cut the recipe in 1/2 & made this yesterday afternoon & it was gone by this morning. I need to make the full recipe next weekend! It was a big hit with most of my kids! Thanks for the recipe!
 
I am making it Wednesday! I can't wait to try it. The meyer lemons she sent me are so good we are just peeling them and eating them as is. LOL
