Length of fertility for ducks

I'm kind of confused about the question.
A duck is fertile as long as she is laying eggs. A Drake is fertile as long as he is actively breeding females but they are most fertile in the first 3 years. Ducks can lay as long as 6 years but lay most of their eggs in the first 3 years.

Once a duck has been bred they can store the sperm of a particular drake for up to a month. If more than one drake has bred the duck then the eggs that are then hatched can be from several different drakes.

If you are wanting to breed your ducks with a particular drake and they have been exposed to other drakes, then you would want to wait at least a month before incubating any eggs laid to ensure that the drake you chose is in fact the father of the potential ducklings.

Hope this answers your question.
