Let me see those coops

This is my family’s coop! It’s where we keep our egg flock. I love that bot the coop and run are spacious enough to house a large flock. 🙂

I love it! It's neat and clean and has a lush background of green growing plants. AND your chickens have a jungle gym with a swing! All very homey and comfortable and fun for them. (Living in the high desert, I especially appreciate the greenery behind your coop!)
Thank you! I live in Nova Scotia so it wouldn't get as hot as you are probably used to but I wanted them to be well shaded in the summer and offer some shelter in the winter from where the winds blow off the mountain:)

Wow, this is great! Lots of room for the chickens and a human-sized door for the humans, lol. Perfect. You have such a beautiful setting with your trees and green ground cover.
Thanks! While I love our coop and it’s accessibility, it gets really hot in there🥵. Which isn’t great for the hens because we already live in Florida. Luckily they have a spacious run and get to free rang in the yard for at least 30 mind to an hour most days.

Welcome to BYC.

If you post your coop with detailed interior and exterior photos on a new thread we can help you improve the ventilation so that it works better.

Here's my article on ventilation: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/repecka-illustrates-coop-ventilation.77659/

This is my newly built chicken tractor. It's fully covered since, well, Texas. Even in the shade shaded is better. I'm not planning on more than 5 chickens, so the size should be okay. It is fairly light, but easier to move connected to the lawn mower. It has an automatic pop door, lots of ventilation with awning doors, and it is purple (my granddaughter's second favorite color--Grandma vetoed granddaughter's favorite, pink).

Here’s mine. 8x8 garden shed design. Still a work in progress but got the chicks in it already. I’m no carpenter but I think it looks pretty good so far. The run is temporary. Plan on adding a 20x8 run in place of the dog kennels I used. Trying to source materials where I can. Only have about 600 bucks in it so far.

I had a pre-existing barn on the property. I divided the barn in half on the inside, added extra doors, and bought a play set that was marked down at Costco and my fiancé and I converted it into another area for my ducks and chickens to go. It’s attached to the barn and is accessible to them through a small door on the bridge. We also created a new protected run on the front. They free range on 1.2 acres, but it’s nice when I lock them up before sun down to keep them safe from predators. It also keeps my potbelly out of the flocks food. We have changed and updated our setup a few times. We now have a much smaller house for when we bring in new flock members in order to quarantine and keep separated until the right time comes to introduce.
