Let the Controversy Begin!!

Wow, that's ironic. And I JUST got through posting about all the wonderful people on this board. Geez....

Might be a good idea to actually read what you are offering your opinion on. I don't think that any of the posters on this thread think that I WANTED controversy. I simply expected there would be many varied opinions. Here, have some onion rings.

I didn't read through all the posts, but wanted to comment. I don't care how long that lady has been raising chickens, or what SHE thinks is the right or wrong way to raise them, but do you think a Mama hen waits until they are fully feathered to take them out? Why no, that is just absurd. Let them out, let them live a little, and you will have happier, healthier birds.

Laurajean; I have read all the posts and I want you to know that I think.............................that you and I think a lot alike!

When i have a question, i think to my self, if I was mama chicken would/should/do I do that. Think about it, if mama chicken hatches outside, they take the chicks out after 3 days, in the grass, on dirt, in the yard. Its OK. also if you really watch a hen with chicks how often are they under Mama, maybe once or twice an houron a warmer day (55 degrees +). they are not being kept at the suggested 95 degrees

I think you need to track down the chicken "expert" again and direct her to BYC! She probably has lots & lots of experience she can offer, and it sounds like she can also learn some new things, too!

And - I hate to say this to you, but Buff H. is right about your title - it's why I opened the thread, so I could check out what it was about to see if it needed to be moderated. You might cnsider changing to something less likely to ruffle feathers. Just a thought!

Good thing Buff is only INCLINED to ignore, etc., as it's obvious he didn't ACTUALLY ignore this one.
