Let the smiting continue? :D

Hope to try it here too... with cheese. We all love cheese nips but their so bad for you and pricey... less guilt if made at home.

The children are notoriously picky when it comes to blended foods, they prefer homogenous mixtures.
how do you plan to mix in the cheese? The artificial powder would mix easily, that would defeat the point, eh?

I'm thinking of taking some shredded cheese and chopping it up a bit?

^Precisely my thinking... I have a mini chopper... that'd work right?

Though, dern thing did give me a devil of a time when I tried making hummus.

Also, my kids aren't that picky. Don't like Brussel Spouts or (turnip, mustard, collard) Greens... they'll eat them, but they don't like them at all... but other than that they'll eat just about anything... LOVE spinach, broccoli and asparagus... yeah, we're weird.

And a great big OY for AGAIN using the wrong their... I hate when I do that.

hmm, I don't know about the chopper. I'm worried about trying to chop too much at once and just forming a glop of cheese. I have a plain batch in the oven now. We'll try later.

Funny thing about the tastes, huh? Mine'll eat something on Monday and refuse it on Friday. If that's all they have as an option, they eat it eventually

.

Don't sweat the spelling thing - one of the kids is dyslexic and I work with technical folks who don't have English as their first language. I've become MUCH more patient with regards to spelling!

Hey PineappleMomma, just so you know......

We're under a Lake Effect Snow Watch until Tuesday. Depending on the wind setup, we could get up to two feet of snow.

How did it go?

My failed attempt last night used up the last of the olive oil. Didn't realize we were completely out until late today. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Ok, here they are. Turned out pretty good for my first batch. Now to experiment more with the flavoring. I just put grated cheese on top for now on some. I may have pulled them out of the oven just a smidgen too soon.
But, thanks for the recipe! Simple, quick, and tasty!

I will use a grater and put it in the fridge for a couple hours to dry out a bit. You could also use grated parmesan cheese and mix it in. It should mix evenly, and as it melts it should be even more evenly distributed within the crackers.

*shiver* Jamie I shiver just thinking about it... right now it's 49 here (which is cold IMO I've got a fire started) and it's poda get down to 29 tonight... GAH I hate winter.

I'd say Except the bugs all die but no... they don't. Just last night I had a stinking skeeter humming around me in the garage.

I got some refried beans and rice on the stove for burritos... and made deviled eggs... maybe it'd be a good night for crackers.

Chopping wise I think I'll just use my food processor instead of the mini... plenty of room and I can mix up all the ingredients in that instead of multiple messy bowls...

It's a thought.

Edit... I can live with 29 when it's clear like tonight's poda be.... it's when the precip comes and it ices and people drive like maniacs I really get cranky.

The second ball I was able to roll thinner, and these crackers are even better! So, next batch of dough I make< I will add seasonings directly into the dough mixture while mixing and roll even thinner!
These are going to be yummy and simple yummies to make!!
