Yesterday morning when I went to the coop Cheepers (a 17 week old Meyer Hatchery Green Queen, she has 5 toes and is solid black) was still sitting on the perch. It was odd because all the babies typically clamor out of the coop as soon as the door opens. I didnt think much of it until later in the day where she was standing alone in the run, kinda looking like she was falling asleep on her feet - head down, slightly wobbly.

Each time I approach her she is popping up, looking excited, runs away. She was hard to catch. She did not want to be separated from the other birds when i tried to carry her out of the run. Her crop is empty this morning. There is nothing obviously wrong. No wounds, vent looked fine, no discharge from nose, mouth eyes, no foul smelling breath. She seems to be getting more and more lethargic. Eating and drinking very little. Not pooping much, but it does look normal. At first I thought she might be coming into lay. she kept almost "squatting", then would lay down and put her head down forward and just lay there. Also her comb does not look red enough yet for her to be laying. She slept on her perch fine last night.

She has always been a little slower then her sisters. Definitely lowest in the pecking order. The pictures below are form this morning with very slight improvement (I think) The last picture is how she was standing most of the day yesterday, not moving much, with her head down.

Its about 85 degrees. None of the other pullets show any signs of distress. Coop is 8x12 for 16 birds. The run is 100x40. I feed them scratch and peck grower feed, with fermented and non fermented food available. I put durvet vitamin and electrolytes in their water for all birds yesterday.

My vet no longer see chickens so any help is appreciated.

What do her poops look like? She looks puffed up. That and lethargy can be signs of coccidiosis, but her tail is pointed down. She also could be having some sort of reproductive issue. If her poops are runny, I would definitely start some Corid in her water for 5-7 days. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water. You can also give a boost once a day of the undiluted Corid 0.1 ml per pound orally in addition to the treated water. If you use Corid stop any B vitamins, then restart after Corid.

Her being low in pecking order could be that she has been kept from the water and food, and is weak. Do you have a cockerel or rooster? I would offer some moist feed and scrambled egg. She might be having a reproductive or other organ issue. Hopefully, she will get better.

She is definetly puffed up. Here poop looks small but normal. I have liquid Corid and figure maybe I should start that. Probably couldn't hurt

I do have a Rooster, a Silkie, very low key, calm and he does not seem to bother her.

I thought about her being kept from food and water, so I put food and water in front of her and waited for her to eat and drink. This morning she was at the feeder by herself.

I am headed out to give her yogurt and eggs. What about maybe Molasses? Should I try some type of coconut oil as well?

Keeping fingers crossed. She could be coming into lay, but she has not yet laid an egg so i just dont know. She is making a "sqeaking" noise a lot as well.

Thanks for the quick response

Something like Poultry NutriDrench 2 ml orally or some sugar water, gatorade or vitamin/electrolytes that you already have would be fine. Molasses just a few drops in water would be fine, but not too much as it can cause diarrhea. Will she go for any special treats such as scrambled egg or tuna? Do you worm your chickens? Is her crop empty or full?

Thanks Eggcessive. I just posted another thread. kinda a little freaking out. I feed her nutridrench with scrambled eggs about an hour ago. I isolated her and she did not like it at all. She finally pooped. I posted those pictures in this thread.

Its green, which I should not have looked up on the internet. I am thinking i need to get her to a vet even though its 30 miles away

Well, the vet cant see her any time soon.

i am at a lose. I am about to feed her again. But she is still the same, very lethargic and just laying there unless i approach.

It would be good to stay on the same thread instead of doing multiples that way you and other posters don't have to swap back and forth.
Green poop can be from her not eating.

She does have access to grit right?
Any food gotten moldy that she could have eaten?

I would focus on getting her hydrated. If you decide to start the Corid, then don't give any extra vitamins during the course of treatment.
