Hello! It's me again!
My parents got me some baby chicks a day ago and ones starting to worry me.
1 baby chick seems to not look well.
Today in the morning he where just fine.
He was eating and drinking very well but as of a few minutes ago he seemed to go lethargic.
He's not walking well, lays low to the ground, and seems to sleep alot. He was panting and breathing heavily before i let them cool off and now he's just breathing heavily..
I don't know really what's going on and yes he's been eating and drinking fine.

I can't check the temperature of the brooder because all I have is a cardboard box with pine bedding and thier food and water. Since I can't afford much.

Any help would be useful I can't loose a chick this early

How many chicks do you have? How are they acting? Are they cheeping? Are they huddled together or scattered apart? Are they holding their wings away from their bodies? Do you have a heat lamp on them? What did you mean when you said you let them cool off?

I have 4 in total, they are acting normal and cheeping.. they are scattered.. no they aren't holding thier wings apart, I do have a heat lamp.. and I left the lamp off for a few minutes

How high above the box is the heat lamp? And how old are the chicks? The temperature for day-old chicks should be about 90°F. Reduce by 5° a week until they are the same temperature as the ambient temperature, or whatever the temp is in the area around you. Only heat one end of the box so they can get to the cooler area if they want. If they huddle together and cheep loudly, they are cold. If they hold their wings out and pant and try to get away from the heat lamp, they are too hot. I have to leave now. I hope this helps, good luck.
