I havent been with her 24/7, I've only seen her poop in my presence with the absence of stools in the cage to prove it. the poop is watery with a bit of green and white. they aren't very big either.

we isolated her from the flock in case it was viral, but it seems like all the symptoms of egg bound or mites. I've included a picture of the "mites" but i can't tell. they aren't moving.

I have felt her abdomen and didn't feel an egg. I gave her an epsom salt bath and massaged her abdomen. she has oyster shell powder coating her food but I havent gotten her to eat.

she isnt totally lethargic; she moves around and is alert of me when I get close. shes very skittish so that's pretty normal.

her comb and vent are normal.

Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry your hen is unwell. :(

If it's viral your other birds are already exposed.. and it sounds nothing like mites... or worms.. at least in the primary sense... they may still bve secondary issues.

Please.. have you checked her crop to see if it it hard, full, empty, squishy.. and does it have any odor?

What is her age and breed? What is fed on a regular basis including treats and supplements? How many flock members in what sized housing? Free range or confined? Any recent additions or unexplained deaths? Any sneezing, wheezing, watery eyes or bubbles? Was she staying in a lay box? When was her last egg? Any actual signs of mites like angry red skin or dried "dirt" clumps on feather bases?

I would suggest feeding her sugar or molassas water, but if she has worms that will make it worse.
Molasses can cause diarrhea...Sugar water might not help sour crop type issues, what is often recommended for failing chicks as a quick energy boost might just cause more harm for other birds without a proper diagnosis first before throwing out suggested fixes.. maybe start asking key questions instead please, so the fix can be found more quickly when you do call in reinforcements. Helping find other members is a great idea! Thank you for your effort. :highfive:

Can you get some permethrin dust or spray from your feed store to treat her for mites? It good that her crop is empty, so not a crop disorder. Can you try mixing a lot of water into a small cup of feed, and add a spoonful of yogurt or egg, and try to get her eating? Canned cat food or tuna sometimes are accepted well, and you can add water to them as well. She really needs to be mite free and get some fluids into her. Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell are very good to give, 1 ml per day, and have a bit of iron.

her crop is empty. a 3 year old barbu d'uccle. we feed her general chicken pellets. 13 other flock members in a 6x10ft coop. they are all free range. we just got them all about a month ago, but not our first flock. no sneezing, wheezing, watery eyes or bubbles. she was not in a box, she would stay with the flock as they roamed around the yard but didn't scratch, only sat still. her last egg was maybe a week ago. I don't know the signs for a mite infestation so I really only have the pictures.they were the only places I found dirt.
