Lethargic chick? Please help

I have the first set of results in- omphalitis with yolk sacculitis. The DVM told me this could come from forcing an early hatch from the hatchery or by the numerous ways the hatcher's can not maintain sufficient cleanliness to prevent infection at birth. On one hand, I am relieved to know I had no hand in her death. Chicks who have this never survive because, even with antibiotics, the chick's immune system is now so compromised that she would never fend off normal bacteria. The concern they expressed was what the bacteria could be; they are sampling it and having it interpreted by Wednesday. She sounded ominous when she said salmonella could be the cause and asked if my other chicks were exhibiting any signs of illness. Of course, now I see a sign of imminent demise in anyone who isn't racing around and eating/drinking everything in sight! I thought you might want to know the initial results and I so appreciate your telling me about these resources. It is worth the $42...
