lethargic Cockerel not eating or drinking

he fell over again today, so i picked him up and tried out the mite powder i bought, i'll see if it works in 2-3 days time

More powder isn't great for killing them.. it's eat for prevention. To kill mites I use cat flea and tick killer, this was recommended by my vet for my hens. Buy the pipettes, frontline or something of equal quality. Put one drop under each wing.

Works a treat!

Also.. check the coop for red mite.. Google how to do this. They are red because they such blood from birds at night . . Can make the birds anemic and really really ill. I've experienced this first hand x

he didn't make it.
we found he had mites on him so we tried to take care of them, but he still had diarrhea and wasn't eating or drinking. we had to force feed him water but he was losing more fluid than we could give him, he was very lethargic. one morning we found maggots/fly larvae in his poo, we checked him and he had the begining of fly strike, they were inside his vent. we washed him the best we could but he didn't survive. all these things had just made it to hard for him to live, and that night he died...
