I have six runner ducks and five chickens. The chickens' routine fecal test came back positive for roundworms so I started deworming both flocks. They don't live together but they share a fence. I've seen no real symptoms other than decreased egg production in both. I'm day three into Aquasol but two days ago I thought one duck seemed a little less active - it was hard to tell so I didn't really think anything was wrong. Yesterday she was much more lethargic, choosing to float in her pond and only coming out to eat peas. Another duck also showed the same signs yesterday, the other four seem okay. I brought both inside yesterday afternoon. They are still very lethargic and not eating much. They will drink and I've given them a little B12 in their water. Both got their third dose of dewormer too. There's no vet available on a Sunday. I was thinking if they are still with me and looking poor tomorrow I could take them to the one vet that treats birds but otherwise I'm at a loss. The ducks have been so hardy and resilient, it's very upsetting to now have two that are looking so sick. Has anyone experienced this? I read that lethargy can be a side effect of worms and the deworming process and I'm really hoping/praying that's the case and in another day they might improve some but it's hard to be optimistic seeing them like this.
