We recently got 4 new laying hens to add to our flock, from a local farmer who was selling them. By the first two weeks, three out of four were laying. The fourth (Angel, an Ameraucana), had only laid one soft egg, so we just assumed she was too old to lay, and that it would go away. But 2 more weeks past, and now, she's been laying super soft eggs almost daily. We got 2 soft eggs today, and one yesterday. She acts like she's eggbound, and she is very tired and doesn't budge, even when the other hens try to get feisty. The poor baby tries to eat oyster shells and calcium, but she doesn't really have a huge appetite....
