I have horses so I am familiar with SafeGuard. Thank you all so much! Your knowledge was a great Christmas gift. I will go to Tractor Supply tomorrow.

I think a lot of people do that, simply because it might be on thing or the other. If it were me I would probably worm, then immediately start the coccidiosis treatment, since neither medicine should be that hard on her. Make sure that she drinks the medicated water. After Corid treatment some vitamins and probiotics (or a bit of yogurt) will be necessary for about a week to restore the gut bacteria ans vitamins lost.

I use the 9.6% Corid liquid and lately if I find a sick one it gets dusted for bugs, weighed, de-wormed and I also give it an oral dose of Corid if I think there is and chance it might have coccidiosis. The oral dose I have been using is 20mg/kg, which is ~.2ml per 2.2 pounds.

another ?. Should I de-worm and treat for Coccidiosis at the same time?
I don't see why it would hurt them.

I have a question re: the safeguard de-wormer. They didn't have the liquid so I had to buy the paste. The paste is in grams not ml. Does anyone know how many grams or mg I should administer to treat a 5 lb chicken?

I just give them a pea-sized dose, its a bit of overkill but fenbendazole is one of those rare meds that you could give them buckets of with nary a side effect except maybe some gastric upset.
