Lethargic gasping chick

I agree she's sick.

What's her poop like?
Any chance food was moldy?

You could try a couple of things to see if it makes a difference. Treat for Coccidiosis and give an antibiotic as well. Corid and Tylan or Amoxicillin. It's a gamble when you don't know what's going on - but something to consider trying.
Thank you! Poop is scarce but normal (no blood). She's been on medicated chick starter since I got her at a few days old. It's stored inside in a feed container and I've been feeding just a scoop or so at a time throughout the day so would have seen if it had managed to get moldy. I've got a few different antibiotics on hand so that's worth a shot. She still alive today and still breathing like this, but feels thin and seems weaker. I syringe fed her a bit of nutridrench and some water and will make her another scrambled egg.

Have the chicks been eating anything other than dry feed? Meal worms? Other treats? Have the chicks been offered grit?

Did you try the sugar water? It can't hurt the chick. Also, oil might be a good idea. Four weeks is an age were constipation from trying new things to eat can occur. Again, oil will not harm the chick if this isn't the issue.

Sugar water and coconut oil are two benign remedies that should be tried. If one works, well, wouldn't that be splendid?
