Sorry to hear about the update. Believe me, I know it is very hard. You are doing the best you can.

Thanks! Today I made a larger nesting box for the new layer bc she barely fits in the two we have already! She’s a massive chicken.
Last night, after I wrote you the update, we decided to give Crystal some fruit seeing as we didn’t think she would last long (kind of like an awesome last meal ). She just. Kept. Eating. And. Eating. she ended up eating almost all the fruit we gave her.
This morning I pulverized some of her food with strawberries to see if she would go for that. She kind of did, but then I just added more strawberries, melon, apples, cucumber, sunflower seeds and a scrambled egg. She has so far eaten everything I have given her. Her energy is much Higher, as well. But she’s still obviously under weight. We woke up thinking she would have either passed away during the night or we would have to euthanize tonight. Looks like we are holding off on that now?? Some good looking poops too.
not entirely convinced she will pull through but happy to see her spirits up a bit. If she does eating all her fav foods, I can live with that.

Sadly she was very low energy yesterday. Barely ate or drank and mostly laid down with her wings flopping onto the ground. Eyes barely open. So we made the call and have her some watermelon/cucumber/strawberry, then put her down. So sad but we both knew it was the decision to be made. Thank you for the support.
