Lethargic hen not responding to Ivermectin - suggestions?

Thank you so much for the reply. I don't have any Corid on hand, but I'll see if I can find some locally or order online. My hen seems a bit more energetic this evening and was voluntarily eating greens for about half an hour, and groomed herself a little, so perhaps the Ivermectin is slowly starting to have an effect.

I happen to have some Metronidazole leftover from when my cat was sick a few weeks ago, and the vet thought GIardia might be the cause. I may try giving a small dose to my hen just in case it has any effect, because as you mentioned, she does seem very near death.

What strength is your metronidazole? Is it the 50mg/1ml liquid? If so, that's what I give to my smaller birds and at they get 60mg/1kg for 5 days. Buy a kitchen scale at Walmart or Target, weigh her and dose accordingly.

If she isn't already, she needs to be in a warm, draft free place with access to a heat source.

Thank you so much for that link! I've been keeping her in the house for the last two days, but I may add a heating pad beneath her carrier to increase the warmth. Thanks for the suggestion!

Unfortunately she didn't make it. I continued hydrating/feeding her with a syringe and giving her Ivermectin, but the next day she lost all her strength and passed away. Still not sure what the cause was, but I really appreciate all the help I got from you all in this forum. Thank you for following up and thinking of us!

So sorry about your hen.
I'm having the same problem, and now I'm on failing hen #3 who is showing the same symptoms.

I tired an epson salt flush, Ivermectin, and now im on a 5 day corid treatment even though I haven't detected any blod in the discharge.
After that I'll try an alternative wormer. I'm not sure which one though.

I saw them fighting over a tree frog yesterday. Those suckers can be poisonous and we have a bunch down her in Florida of many different varieties. I wonder if that might be the cause?
