Agnes is one of my first chickens and I’m so worried about her! About three days ago I noticed her not eating as much and drinking more water than usual. She didn’t want to leave the coop and has white/yellow diarrhea on her vent feathers. She’s been increasingly lethargic and now isn’t drinking at all. I’ve been giving her electrolytes by syringe but it’s not helping, she’s getting worse. I thought maybe she had an impacted crop and noticed thick saliva in her mouth. I held her upside down and she vomited some meal worms and a little bit of feed that I’m assuming was from several days ago. I just noticed the poop in the pic attached that looks like it has blood in it.
I feed my hens scratch, barley, wheat, rye, and pea fodder, meal worms, and kitchen scraps. Agnes is almost 5 year old Rhode Island Red. The only new additions to our flock are some silkie mix chicks that we hatched out about a week ago under a broody hen. I’m worried about the babies getting whatever she has if it’s contagious.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have to add that she got sick about His same time last year. I don’t remember her crop staying full but after a few days of antibiotics and electrolytes in my bathroom she perked up and was fine.
Right now she’s laying down with labored breathing. I think she’s dying.

She died about an hour after I posted this. :(
I did a necropsy and her crop was full but she also had an egg right above the vent that was leathery and empty/smashed. I guess it was the egg that backed everything up. It’s a sad day here.

I'm sorry for your loss:hugs

It's good that you were able to perform a necropsy to see what was going on.
