Hey y’all - IDK what’s going one. All 9 have been doing fantastic. Following mom, I’ve seen them eat, drink, sleep, walk everything. Tonight I went to check everyone, I only counted 8 and couldn’t find the 9th one and then I saw it, laying on the floor. I honestly thought it was already dead... but it’s not.
No pasty butt, just extremely lethargic. I’ve started a clean syringe of sav a Chik vitamins.
Anything else I can do?

You might want to start them all on Corid.

I’m sorry Unicornlife! You know, as I was looking at our broody guinea on her pile of shavings, I started wondering if keets raised by mom might be at increased risk of intestinal obstruction from all of the stuff they will eat? I don’t know if that’s the case. Do the keets have chick grit in their feed? Treat for the treatable is a good mantra, so,
Amprolium in water at the high dose, grit in their feed, etc. Have you isolated the ill keet, with warmth etc?

I did isolate the sick keet who has unfortunately passed at this point. I have started corrid for the rest of them. They’re basically just on a dirt floor in my barn with no bedding, I will add grit to their pen tomorrow. I’ve never used grit for the guineas before mainly because they eat the dirt and whatever else.

I’m so sorry!!! I swear, keets are the most fragile creatures! It seems like by the time you see that they’re sick, it’s already too late to do anything. So sad to lose the little ones! :hit
