Hello, I picked up my chicks this morning from the post office. I ordered them from Meyer Hatchery, they shipped on the 7th and got here today. One was very lethargic on arrival and I have been trying to nurse her to health but she keeps getting worse. She is completely limp now, eyes closed, and keeps opening her mouth (unable topost video unfortunately). She occasionally sort of spasms and then she is back to limp. I have accepted by now she probably won't make it, but thought I might try posting here in case anyone has experienced the same thing and was successful in getting it healthy again.

Sadly, when they get to this state there is nothing you can do but keep them warm until they pass or euthanize them. I'm sorry about your chick.

Yeah, she's passed now 😢 so heartbroken to lose two chicks on such a small order (7 chicks, one was DOA). Ugh. This was my first time getting chicks shipped but I think next time I'll opt for the 4.5 hour drive to the hatchery.

Shipping can be really hard on them. And the postal service in many places really doesn't take much care with them, despite being live animals. I'm very sorry, it's happened to many of us. Nothing worse than picking them up with so much anticipation and ending up with dead bodies or nearly dead chicks. It's happened to many of us. My postal distribution center is so bad that I just no longer ship them, I just hatch here or go with what I can find locally. My last shipping experience was terrible.
