We have an Easter Egger pullet who is just shy of 3 months old that is lethargic, not eating, nor drinking. The rest of the flock seems to be fine. She is sleepy- head down, tail down, standing. She is one of several pullets we've introduced to a lone older laying hen. They integrated well- so I don't think she's being bullied. I was able to collect a very small poo sample that looks pretty normal to me (other than it being on the smaller side)- but we're still new to chicken-keeping, so I've attached it in case someone sees something I don't! The black part on the side is dirt :)

We've isolated her, with some food (free choice of regular grower feed, meal worms, and fruit), put apple cider vinegar in her water, and will be going to get her some yogurt right now. Any other thoughts, suggestions, comments? She doesn't appear to have sour or impacted crop, her vent looks fine. Her comb is slightly pale. Eyes look normal... She is fairly weak and sleeping right now. No apparent signs of lice/mites/worms in coop, in her poo, or on her body. And she's not coughing, sneezing, nor does she have any discharge...??

I would offer her some cooked egg in a ddition to some wet chick feed mixed with water. Put some vitamins with electrolytes in her water. Skip the ACV, since it can irritate the intestines if she should have coccidiosis. Are you sure that she has not been kept from eating and drinking? Coccidiosis can cause a poor appetite, lethargy, standing around puffed up or hunched, runny or bloody poops, and weakness. If she does not eat the egg right away, I would start some Corid (amprollium) in her water as soon as you can get it. Dosage is 1.5 tsp of Corid powder or 10 ml of Corid liquid per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Do not give vitamins while on Corid. You can also get some droppings checked by your local vet for worms and coccidia.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! We'll try this and hope for the best!! We've been watching them pretty closely since integrating the flock and I don't think she's been kept from eating and drinking, but I did switch them over from a smaller feeder to a larger one a couple days ago- I thought I saw everyone eating out of the new feeder... We have three Easter Eggers and two of them are tricky to tell apart, so now I'm second guessing myself and wondering if maybe she hadn't taken to it...

Thanks again for the suggestions!
