Lethargic, Puffed up Pullet?? HELP *UPDATE FOUND A DEAD PULLET TODAY!*

I felt kind of silly doing it.

But I just wanted to make sure if someone else read this later that they didn't get confused.

It's already confusing enough, isn't it really? "medicated" feed isn't really medicated to treat, then it could be antibiotics or coccidiostats. And "medicines" really mean anything, and some non-medicinal products (like VetRx) are sold in the antibiotic sections.

/boggle!

Newchicky, I would give the worming a try. My friend lost a good bunch of chickens that turned out to be worms that did it. He never wormed them, and never even thought that they would get worms.
I remember last year one of my chickens looked pale, and rested more than normal. Well she finally pooped in front of me and guess what was in it?
Newchicky, don't feel like the fault is yours. We all get puzzled about something with chickens, and sometimes never know what happened. Chickens , I don't think, were ever known for their hardiness against disease and genetic mishaps.
I hope something finally works.

I just wanted to let everyone know. Everyone is happy and healthy and I have not had a reoccurance of anything.

*knock on wood!*

I have been giving them vinegar and vitamins every other week. So happy that everyone is so healthy.

I deepy appreciate everyone's help.

I did everything you told me to do

. Gave PolyViSol to the weaker ones along with Vitamin E w/ Selenium. Switched off the OACV and Vitamins and everybody made a full recovery. Along with the course of Sulmet I did originally and continued on Medicated feed.

Everyone is on regular feed now, and I give the OACV and Vitamins every couple weeks alternating.

However I have started a new thread on my poor Roo who is suffering from best I can tell a respitory infection. Maybe you would have some advice on that, you were so helpful to me before:

This is the thread:

I just went to your new thread. I wonder if it wasn't just sensitivity to dust - let's hope - but gave you some options, and in any case the vitamins will help now with stress from him feeling poor.

I'm glad the advice worked on the other birds! I always want to hear what worked, even (and maybe especially) if it was something other than I recommended so that I keep checks and balances on all my information.
