I have a 7 month old RIR. I noticed a couple of days ago that she was acting funny. She would hide in the corner of the coop by herself and almost always have her eyes closed. She normally flocks to the hen scratch that I throw out to them but she was completely uninterested and has remained that way. She doesnt seem to be eating at all. Shes very lethargic, stumbling around when she does attemt to walk which isnt often. Shes also doing a weird jerking motion with her head and when picked up she lays her head completely back onto her body. Her comb isnt a bright red like it normally would be and almost seems "dried up". I felt her body to see if maybe she was binded with an egg but from what I felt theres nothing there. I could be wrong and just not know what exactly Im looking for though. I have been giving her water with a syringe and she does drink some. Ive seperated her from the other birds in a seperate cage inside the coop with food water and a heat lamp. She doesnt seem to have mites or lice and it doesnt seem to be respiratory as she isnt showing the normal signs involved with that. Im at a loss and have no idea what could be wrong or how to treat her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would worm her asap, I've lost chickens like that due to worms. Maybe start with wazine or something else like ivomec, broad spectrum. Don't wait! I also started mine on high calorie dog paste in a tube form a pet store...

Thanks for the info! I just gave her some water treated with wazine. I'm not sure how effective it will be seeing as how I have to give it to her through a syringe and she wont drink much at one time. I think Im just going to keep giving her a little throughout the rest of the day. I got her to eat a little. Had to mush up her feed with some yogurt but she did eat some. Hopefully she starts doing better.

Good luck. Sometimes if I do a syringe I use a slightly stronger dosage too.... You might want to worm your whole flock too...

These are the exact same symptoms that my Polish began having on Saturday. He was absolutely fine, then two hours later he was limp and lifeless. Did the worm medicine work? Thank you in advance for your help.
