Lethargic silkie chick

Can you answer some of the questions posed in the previous POST?

I'm sorry for your loss, but it would be a good idea to continue to try to figure out what's happening.
You put a "little" Corid powder in the water along with electrolytes. Give the correct dosage of Corid powder which is 1 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Eliminate the electrolytes - nothing should be added to the Corid.

The poop is a bit questionable, but then again, you changed diet on them. The "GRITS" that you added was that Hominy Grits or was it Poultry Grit (crushed granite)? If you are going to give oatmeal, cornmeal, etc.---anything besides chick starter the chicks need to have a source of grit (crushed granite), offer it free choice.

A picture of the whole brooder would be good too instead of just a glimpse of the corner of your setup in the photos.

edited to add, the poop does not look like it has worms to me, I see some mucous and it's thin like the chick is possibly dehydrated or is having a hard time going. Color? Probably due to oatmeal and cornmeal.

I replied to the post earlier...I just quoted your post in it

Start simple. I would definitely treat them all for cocci. Give the sick looking ones some treated water on a tsp dribbled on the side of their beak every few hours.

Just FYI and may be a "duh" idea but chicks will huddle under the heat if cold and avoid direct heat if they are too hot. I usually make the brooder so that they can get away from the heat if wanted.

Hydrate like others have said. Medicate them asap.

I apologize, I did not see the answers inside the quotes.
I will paste them here so the others can see them too - any that I will reply to will be in red.
You mention corn meal with oatmeal and add grits - what's the grits - do you mean chick grit (crushed granite) or do you mean Grits (hominy grits)?
-- hominy grit
If you are going to feed the chicks anything else besides chick starter they need chick grit - provide that free choice. They need to be able to process the oatmeal, cornmeal and grits. IF you have no chick grit and have to feed them this today - offer them some scrambled or hard boiled egg and boil/cook the cornmeal, grits and oatmeal. They need to be drinking well.

Why does the one chick look wet?
-- one of his chick mates pushed him in the waterer before I isolated him
I had wondered about that:)
Do they have room to get away from the heat lamp?
-- Yes, the tote is bigger than it looks in the picture, it was a quick solution because I didn't have anything else
What is your bulb - where did it come from?
Can you feel their crops - do they have food in them?
-- it's a 250 watt bulb/lamp from tractor supply. The polish has been eating, and he did have food in his crop. The silkie I couldn't tell, so probably not.

Photos of the poop?
In a black plastic tote, I would fear they are actually overheating in there - are they avoiding getting under the light? Can you tell us what the temperature is in the tote?
-- they were actually huddling in the middle where the light was directed, there is a section they can go to to get away from it
-- didn't take photos of the poo, it was just mostly white
It would be a good idea to get some chick starter as soon as possible.
White is urates, it could be due to dehydration or something else.
I would still treat them for Coccidiosis, but give the correct dosage as posted previously.

-- I do not have a thermometer to check temp atm
It could be Coccidiosis, but my priority would be to try to get them hydrated you can use the Corid water if you wish, but I would get 1-2 drops of Poultry Nutri-Drench into them if you have it. If not give them a little sugar water.

I just wanted to apologize because after reading my post I feel like I may have came off rude, but I wasn't trying to, it's hard to show emotion over text. I truly do appreciate everyone's help.

Here's the updates/extra info:
The silkie chick died within an hour or 2 from my post, the polish is doing much better but still looks dishuffled.
My car died on me yesterday before I could get feed, and is still in the shop, and the closest feed store is miles away, that is why I've been using the cornmeal. Their normal food is Purina medicated chick started that I give freely. They also get Purina chick grit freely, but in a separate feeder.
For a brooder, I've been using the red chick brooder from tractor supply that is $25, and a 250 watt heat bulb/setup also from them. The bulb is the same one that use on their chicks they sell. The floor is lined with loose hay.
My chickens range from approximately 2 months to 1 week. The older chicks are free range in the back yard with the ducks, and they come into the garage at night or in the heat until I can finish building their run/ chicken house. The younger ones stay in the brooder.

:hugs You are having a rough week. I'm sorry to hear about the Silkie.
Can you get a photo of the Polish and her poop?
The Polish is the one that I thought was wet correct? I would treat for Coccidiois.
Corid powder dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Give as the sole source of water for 5-7 days.

Yes the polish was the wet one lol. I just got up and about to go check on everyone, I'll see if I can grab a pic

sentimentalgamer, I understand the emotionlessness of text, and that's a tough one. I usually go by "intent" on harsh sounding replies.

I have a thermometer in the brooder but I go more by their behavior. If they huddle in one spot, they're cold. If they're all as far from the heat as they can be, they're hot. I like them MOL scattered to know its a good temp.

Gotta cut me some slack here, I'm trying to reply to everyone's post. I'm sorry I didn't see one about teflon. No it isn't a teflon bulb. It's a 250 watt bulb from tractor supply, the same ones they use on their chicks

Your not rude said that in the beginning but did answer it was not that just because others are not affected thank you
