Hi all, thanx for help in the past, but............................... I need help with a Brown Leghorn hen.
Her sisters have finally ended their molt (about 1 1/2 months ago). She just never came out of it, or something else is up?
Her comb is grayish, she walks around rather slowly/lethargic, and today noticed she had an eye pecked.
I have removed her from the rest of the others, put her in a corner quarantine for the time being, but,...............
She seems to be distressed from the heat we finally have been getting. She opens her mouth, but nothing comes out.
She will be 2yrs old in 2 months. She eats and assume she drinks.
Her sisters all have bright red combs and much more active.
I think I may need to put her down.
Any thoughts????????????

Add some rooster booster/electrolyte powder to her water and get her on some high protein feed like turkey grower. She may just be very behind nutritionally due to the molt.

UPDATE on my hen.................

Sad to say she died Saturday.

I had put her on electrolytes and higher protein food for a few days. I was going to start her on an antibiotic regimen.
