I can't even joke about that! Yikes! Thank you for your service! What are the chances of being struck be lightning and then coming home to continue to help people. You weren't kidding when you said you aren't typical. You are a saint sir. :bow
I hope your wrists start to feel better soon!
Thanks. I don't feel like a saint, yet.... I think I've gott several more decades to work at it....

And thanks again.

Doubt that it makes you feel any better but I know a fellow who as a youngster was struck by lightning. As a young man he slipped and ran a hay rake tine in beside his eyeball and on through his brain. They removed the rake tine from the machine and took him to the hospital to have it removed. He survived without apparent brain or eyesight damage.

Wowsers. I do know of several other "stories" such as that kid... But, non had the two stories in one lifetime.

(ETA) most of the time I can be all medical and stuff while thinks ng or reading stories..... This one caught me off kilter.... The brains ability to create HD mental imagery is what I'm used to... That story just got stuck on loop in my mind's eye... Man o man.

I won't start on my maternal grandfather's stories. He was checking the electric fencer unit when lightning struck the electric fence.

I worked with a guy that was hit from high tension wires. He was building billboards and made contact where he wasn’t supposed to.

The electricity did more damage than the 60’ fall to the ground. He was in the ICU for almost 6 weeks. Hospitalized for 8 months.

He had temperature regulation issues, migraines, and every once in a while he’d be under cold water drinking hot tea because it was the only relief he could find for when he fired up. Said all the pain receptors on his skin seemed like they were firing off at once. Much like ripping a nail off and touching the quick..... except all over his body.

Electricity does fascinating things.

Sorry about the repeated posts. My internet speed was a whopping 0.46 Mbps. Maybe I should add that little note back into my signature in case of more quirky posts.
Relax. BTDT got all the swag.

Our DSL has been as bad and worse over the last decade. I totally walk in those shoes too often. We have a thread in nyc about issues with trying to upload pics on slow and super slow connections.

There is one browser setting..... The default is set to 300 but, you can manually set it to 600 and it does help with slowing down the page "timing out".... I just forgot where /how you get to it....
