Now hes quite handsome I think!

My best hen is a mutt.....I could not even give an educated guess what her make up is. What I do know is that for 15 months she has only missed laying 4 times. It does not matter how cold or hot it is...how much daylight she gets..she is great. She has x-Lg eggs and makes sure she rules the roost! I have just set some of her eggs from my Welsummer/EE mixed roo to see what I come up with. Hopefully some more hens with her dedication!!

We have 3 mutt chicks that are around 1 week old. My husband wanted to see what cross he would get with his polish female. He put his polish hen in with my very pretty light calico colored serama roo for a few days and then put her with my silkies (one roo is buff and one roo is blue partridge). All three of the chicks are black like mom and have little puffs on their head. Any ideas what they will look like as adults?

I hatched some local eggs to for comparison to shipped eggs and they are adorable BackYard Chickens. I think the mutt is the true BYCer.
The daddy was an Austrolarp Rooster. Possible mommies are LF White Cochin, LF Black Cochin, Red Sex Link, Barred Rock, Dominique, and EE.
1 chick is black with a white dot on its head, 3 are black, and 3 are yellow. (1 of the yellow chicks has a black spot on it's back)

I bought some shipped eggs that were pure wyandotte that were set 2 days after the local eggs. The seller added an Ameraucana x Wyandotte blue egg for fun. Due to bad winter storm and abuse by USPS the box arrived banged up and 3 eggs smashed. The only egg that survived all the way to lock down.........ta da: Ameraucana x Wyandotte.
I am hoping this tuff little egg is a girl.

I know this probably sounds corny but I swear the mutt chicks are sweeter and softer then the blue wyandottes and silkies when they were this young.

I love this pic so here I am gonna show it again:
