LOL it's up to you how you do your block. It's freestyle as long as it has the blank in the middle in any shape for the child to write their first name only. I just did the bigger one trying to learn how to do it and do the bigger ones for my kid's at school.

The visit this morning went great!!! And since I can't take the students to the Crisis Center due to no money for a bus, they are going to bring the kids to us! The loved the idea of the quilt that the kids could write their names on too. They showed me one a group started several years ago and they embroidered their own names on it before they donated it but never went back to help put the kids names on it. This one will go where the kids will see it every day and can show everyone their name.

I will, I got a pic of me giving them the crochet stuff this morning, I'll post it later after I upload it. It was so nice being there. One little toddler walked up to me and held her arms out to be picked up. I'm not a baby person at all but I ended up carrying her all over that place while they gave me a tour.

here are my 4 samples. I should have more of the zigzag background because the bubbles unraveled more when I prewashed (duh.. didn't finish before washing... it's a learning process)

Anyway.. I think there will be about 30 when all is said and done, but don't put that down as hard and fast yet.... there may be a lot more beginners mistakes that I don't know about yet

I thought the kids might like the bright colors. If you I'm not doing it right.. Now's the time to tell me!!
