Let's plan a Quail egg hatch... set 'em Sept. 1, hatch 'em Sept 17-19+

I'm hoping that since these eggs are from my own birds, that I'll get some tuxedos.

I sold a few last month and they got one out of like 6 chicks, so I'm

that I get a few. I only have one tux hen. She was our only Corturnix that made it out of a hatch of a dozen eggs with 3 that hatched. She's been laying like crazy sincw she was 9 weeks old, so I'm glad to know tuxedos show up.

I sure hope i get more to hatch than the last 5 hatches. One was zero, the others I got 6-8 each time and always lost at least 2 within a few days.

Had it not been time to remove previous hatched chicks(chickens) tonight, I might have missed it too !

You still have time, I may actually be a day early...or just early it is after midnight...

Honestly, it probably wouldn't have hurt them if you had forgotten. Granted, they probably would not have enjoyed their trip to the bottom, but they would have survived

I'm a few days behind, I believe I set mine on the 3rd. I'm sure I've got it written down somewhere but am too lazy to look right now

Well? When are we hatching? I quite often get early birds. lol I have my cam on the eggs so I can watch from work. smile I get so anxious! lol

All 30 of our hatch on the 9th and they were 2 days early although all of them are healthy as can be a week later. But we kinda figured that while shipping it was so warm that they started their development on the way here. Oh well at least we know our incubator is working YAY!!!

I just put mine in lockdown last night. Now the fun part starts. I candled them all at the same time.

Set 43, 5 were bad: 2 totally clear, one cloudy yolk, 2 quitters. I opened the air sacks and saw they were black, but didn't have the guts to do anymore than that.

I keep trying to get the nerve up every hatch!

So I have 38 left, one looked strange when I candled it, probably a late quitter, but I left it in anyway and marked it.

There was a lot of shaking going on. I also thought about leaving the eggs in the turning trays to help increase my hatch rate, but I love watching the shaking, so I took them out.
