I appreciate the compliment, but I can assure you I don't deserve the title "doctor" for anything. Heck, JJMR would come much nearer fittin that title, but then again, I've learned a ton of stuff on this forum from a ton of folks, including you 2...

IMHO, this board is the Quailipedia of all Quailipedias!!!

Ok I'm in but I am doing it all wrong. I only have enough space for about 20 more birds. so what did I do......I set 70 eggs on sunday:rolleyes:

Guess I'll be stretching my limits on the last batch before winter.

Solution: Pass on by Taco Bell, Sonic, Burger King, (Texas Roadhouse if'n you splurge for lunch...lol)........and go by Dollar General and pick up the potted meat and crackers to keep your tummy from growling for the next couple of weeks........THEN.........spend that "lunch" money on "cheap" lumber (if you don't have scraps), some hardware cloth, and some nails/deck screws. Make room.....sacrifice other niceties for your birds. I do. To steal a quote from Mossy Oak camo.... "It's not a passion, it's an obsession".

Good luck!!!

So, Doc Randall, I followed your suggestion and put a plastic container with ice in with my eggs and got the perfect 60 degrees. I put the egg turner in my hovabator for insulation. Checked it this morning and all the ice had melted and it was back to 72, but I filled up the ice again and it should be back down to 60.

Good way to use all the fancy ice cubes in my husband's bar fridge. (Shhh...he doesn't know
