Way back when...

When people didn't have the internet...

When horrible diseases stalked pioneers on their travels...

When ellipses didn't take up half of people's speech...

There was a trail... The Oregon Trail! *dun dun dun*

...Wait, hang on! This isn't the 1800s! What gives? Ah, right. We're playing the computer game version! Wowza, just look at those graphics! Anyway, the game gives us 4 options at the start:

1. Travel the trail
2. Learn about the trail
3. See the top 10
4. Turn off the sound

I took the liberty of turning off the sound. Well, not that it matters to you all, really. The top 10... Why should we? Learn about it... Well, here! And now... To push 1. Our journey begins!

Which of these esteemed bachelors do you pick? ...Oh wait, these are our career choices. And I've decided that we're farmers! Boy howdy, let's get some cholera! As a note, the farmer class has the least money out of all of them, but you get the biggest point boost at the end.

Let's name our 5 deathseeking- I mean, lucky pioneers! ...Uh... What should their names be, anyway? Help me out here!

This stands to be very interesting - I always enjoy Let's Plays, and a forum format might actually make it more interesting. Plus, I for some reason love old games.

I'm no good with names.

Someone else needs to post ideas.

Yes, our esteemed companions! Will they survive the Oregon Trail? Will they all die in the river? Will dysentery take them all? Find out! As we head out... on the Oregon Trail! *bum bum*

The time of year we embark... Hm. Truly a hard choice that will take countless hours for us to decide on- we're leaving in April. No snow for you! But before we leave Independence, let's go get some stuff from the general store. What stuff? It's up to you! We have $400 to spend.

Now, as a quick note:

1 Ox = $20
1 pound of food = $.2
1 set of clothing = $10
1 box of 20 bullets = $2
Wagon wheels, axles, and tongues = $10 each.

Math? In MY LP? It's more likely than you think!

Note number 2: How this is going to work is that I'll post pictures with my sarcastic comments on them chronicling my trip throughout the video game 'The Oregon Trail'. If I stop and ask you guys what to do, you can post what you'd like to see me do.

10 sets of clothing?
We have 5 people, 2 sets each? I dunno...

More food, 100-150?

How much weight can we carry?

Yeah... I went ahead and took the liberty of buying stuff. Muhuha! Now that we're all settled, let's head out! (Current funds: About $96.)

But before we do, let's look at Independence one last time... Take in those pitch black streets, those odd looking buildings, and- Does that little boy have no facial features?! ...No one except Raccoon Man has 'em! No wonder everyone was taking the Oregon Trail!

We'll be going at a grueling pace with meager rations, by the way.

Very informative. Oh yeah, look at our cattle! They prance! What fun!

It's so curvy~ I guess it's dancing or something.

Aww, look at those graphics... Take in the scenery, folks. We're gonna cross it soon! Whee!

Hm, but we have a problem. The river is kind of deep.

We have 4 options!

1. FORD IT.
2. Caulk and float
3. Take a ferry. (Requires paying money and probably waiting a few days.)
4. Wait to see if conditions improve.

Which one do you think we should do?
