Lets play "Where is the storm"

Quote:
I hate the cold the wind is picking up here too, I hear it howling thru the windows. It won't be goold later when snow starts to fall. I have a field across the street and one behind us, this adds up to no way out of the driveway in morning, Hey thats not bad after all another day off from work whoa hoo

Hubby just got back...his workplace was shut down after power went out. Standing around for about an hour until the supervisor told them they can go home now.

Several business' power had some power going out. I am sure with the electricians around here experciencing the great 2006, I am sure they will get it up and running soon!

South Central Iowa checking in. Blowing, blowing, blowing. Probably 3 - 4 inches of snow, but who can tell, it's all in drifts across my drive and lane to the chicken house. I am hoping/praying the electric stays on.

I REALLY don't want to have 100 5-day old fuzzy butts huddling with me around the propane space heater in my living room! They are in the brooder in the garage. I want to keep them there! I wonder..... If I sat and watched it non-stop, would a glass oil lantern act as a heat lamp in a plastic tote for the little peeps if the need arises? The power pole that our electric comes to on the farm here is not exactly steady on it's feet in a high wind. I REALLY don't wanna share my space with my peeps!

ok, it started snowing about 15 minutes ago and it's coming down fast...I'm near South Bend, IN. This is what's going on outside...

New Jersey here. We got a little freezing rain last night, the main roads were treated so driving was o.k. We are having a break right now, but they say we're supposed to get freezing rain again starting around midnight.

I'd rather have snow!

Looks like I will be getting ice for a while. Its starting to come down now, which sucks because I have to go out and lock up the birds at dark I hope the pop door doesn't freeze open.

It's in Oklahoma right now and hopefully on its way OUT! I love snow, but 40mph winds and up are just too much. You can't even see past your driveway because of the blowing snow - and the wind chill is -15 BRRRRRRR If the wind would quit, it might not be so bad. I think we got around 9-10" of snow near OKC, but you can't tell - most of our land is fairly bare because the snow is in huge drifts. Everybody is getting cabin fever because it is too cold/windy to go outside.

Highway 30 on our drive home from Fort Wayne. And we still have about 30 is min to go. We should be home by now!
Level 2 snow emergency has been issued and at least 1 snow plow/salt truck has been overturned in the county south of us.
