lets put some eggs in the bator

This is what I've got in my incubator: 14 Tibetans and 13 Italians from eBay and 30 Texas A&Ms from Lake Cumberland Gamebird. The TAMs just came today. I'm so excited about how BIG the eggs are.

Awesome, good luck! I love the shelf liner idea, I may have to put some of that in when I candle next.

I candled last night and had 5 clear, but the rest are looking good. Even one that I sealed! These eggs are great for candling, you can see the embryo even in some of them. If I can get DBF to come home for a minute tonight, I'll candle again and take some pics. I'm so excited!!

BTW, for future reference DBF=dear boyfriend. :)

Candled a dozen randomly last night ( day 4) and seems none are fertile or started yet? All looks clear/glowing with no dark spots. The older eggs that were stored for over a week to the new eggs laid that day, none seemed to be fertile. Unfortunate so far. I had 3 out of 7 fertile on the previous hatch. Maybe my redoing of the coop in the middle there caused them to stop fertilizing for a while.

Just candled my 15 (12 jap quail and 3 king quail)

2 of my jap's were no go, 1 I couldn't see much so unsure. All king quails are good :)

So 13 out of 15. Fingers crossed we still go this well at the end ....

Candled today, and cracked open some randomly, NOT A SINGLE FERTILIZED EGG! :(
Cooking it all now to feed to the chickens instead. I must have stressed out the quails while I was changing the quail cage.

I will wait for all of my quails to start laying and then incubate them again.
