O.M.G I swear, I have to do it every 30 minutes or so! Do they ever stop scratching?

I'm just venting, I know, I know, it's all part of the fun.

My birds aren't babies any more and I still have to do it! Good thing they're so cute and loveable.

LOL I learned the hard way too. You can raise their water on a brick or something as well, which has helped me a lot. Be sure to only raise it to the height of their little backs. That should help quite a bit!

turning bricks on side makes them a little taller and helps a LOT!! first it was a pie tin under the waterer then a brick...now 3 bricks on their side so it is even higher...you know they are growing fast when.....every couple of days you can make waterer higher!

I put my waterer up on a 2x12 that is larger than the base, they hop on the wood and then can drink. I don't have to change it hardly at all as the shavings don't make it up that high, and very little gets on the wood.

waterer is elevated on bricks, but still we have chippy water...
I swear some days they see me walk away with the waterer to change it out, and they're going like this:
