We are just about finished with our pallet/recycled coop. We took each pallet apart and utilized each board instead of whole pallets. We also tore down an old shed and used some of the lumber from it as well as hardware.

Forgot to post when when I finished. The coop is all pallet and other free lumber. The run is where the cost was.

My summertime pallet coop. It was used as a chicken run last winter. I'm working on the old coop.
The sheet is blocking the afternoon western sun.



I let them out to roam at will during the day.


Nesting boxes. The big rooster likes sleeping in the large animal carrier at night.

My pallet coop is next to my garden area. When the garden is finished for the year, I'll open the gate for the chickens to come in.

My coop is made out of recycled plastic and old wood from a fence we tore down a while ago

My 2nd coop, majority of wood is from shipping crates and pallets. Hardware and cedar for roof is only expense. Total cost so far is $140.
