Let's share our chicken decor!

Pics
Ok:

The one between my rooster wall lamps from early post on this thread---supposed to be poppies..

And brighter lights don't make it look any better.

Next is a tray - my first try at Donna Dewberry's technique.

And a really cheap table I got at flea market. Used first as chair side, now it's a plant stand.

I have also painted a bathroom mirror, laundry hamper, a really bad big pic of flowers. When you stop laughing I'll post those.

Really want to try chickens. Using the One Stroke blue bird method could work…but my attempts to draw the basic shapes were too funny to pursue…..maybe one day.

You did great @sunflour , I love the look of your painting! I bet you could do an awesome chicken. Thank you for showing and if you want to share the others, I'd like to see them.

@sunflour , I forgot to ask...did you use acrylic paints for your projects? DH gave me a set of those for Christmas but I've never used acrylics before. If that's what you used, do you have any tips?

Yes, they are acrylic. I think all FolkArt brand.

There is a product that helps with blending, will look and see what it was. What I love about the one-stroke technique, is you load 2 colors, blend a little and the wiggles when you brush do the work. Check out Donna Dewberry and One stroke painting - I have several of her books and there's a lot of on line info, just Google.

@Six Goldies This is not talent. I cannot draw or paint. This is the Donna Dewberry One Stroke Folk Art and IMO if I can do it, then anyone can do it…..

The first tray was so easy, the paint I used to spray the tray yellow let me wash off the paint and repaint til it was passable..

Ahh your being modest..

I just looked up Donna Dewberry and watched a video.. You still need (some) artistic talent to do what she was painting.. And your art is great!!
