Let's share our chicken decor!

I took a better pic of my painting, hope you don't mind me showing off

I wanted to start a new one but I still haven't gotten around to it ;(

I should try to learn how to paint decor, I could probably make a bit more money that way than selling paintings?
@sphinxface This is amazing! How long does it take to complete a painting like this? I would think quite a long time. You have a great talent.

I wanted to share my pelicans (oh @sunflour , I wish I would have known you back when you got rid of yours!). Both of these are special to me for the little stories behind them.

This little guy is made up of tiny shells. I got him when I lived with my brother & sis-in-law on their sailboat for 3 months. We used to spend hours watching the pelicans dart in and out of the ocean diving for fish or simply resting on top of the piers.

This is my brown pelican limited edition print by John Ruthven who does beautiful wildlife artwork. When we had our store in the Keys, a couple came in one day and offered to trade a print we had for sale for one of theirs. The whole back of their truck was full of original works and prints from various artists (they were art dealers picking up stuff for their gallery while on vacation). As soon as I saw this pelican, I fell in love with it. One of the best trades I've ever made!

How about painting cabinets? There's a wonderful example earlier in this thread. Your work is beautiful and looks just like a photo!

I also love pelicans! I had a sculpture of one ages ago but had to move and it was too cumbersome to bring along.

It's so hard for me to estimate, this took longer than I think is normal because I'm still trying to get the hang of the material. the more comfortable with the material I get the faster I get, and then I push myself to do as good of work as I can. I think this took me a couple weeks, total hours I couldn't tell you ;P
