Lets talk about goats!

Spell check messed with my post lol. I meant I'm having a hard time giving them pills and they are getting 8 a day plus 4 droppers, Hoof rot stuff and one is getting an eye cream. We started wrapping them in a little bread but they won't eat bread now. Then I was putting them on top of grain, inside a raisins and inside an apple. They either spit them out or won't eat it at all. 6 of them I can crush and syringe into mouth with water and some probiotic but they don't like it and two of them aren't soluble. We have been giving them pine branch treats and so far their pooping is the only thing that isn't screwed up lol. How do I check worm count? I did give them lung worm medicine.

You might try wrapping the pills in a marshmallow. I never give my goats pills so i never tried. If you own a microscope worm counts are easy. The fiasco farm website has the directions. You can also google goat parasite pictures and see all kinds of stuff to look for. If you dont own a microscope a vet will do the testing for a small fee. But with my microscope (i got a good one for about 100.00 dollars.) I do all my testing myself. With pictures from the internet I can check for coccidosis, liver flukes, and other things.

for an unresponsive puppy, I used to rub from tail to head in one sweeping motion. This would anger them and after a time or two, they would let out an angry cry- in doing so they took a breath. I had a tiny pup that was unresponsive - late being born because her jumbo brother that came before her, took a lot of time to push out. I had a bottle of some alcoholic beverage my dad had and I dipped my finger in it and put it in her mouth. After the third time-she moved her head aside. Then she started acting like a new born puppy.I was so happy I was crying. She lived to be 14.

I would think this would work for goats, and other reluctant new born mammals.

I wonder if my daughter's science teacher would let her do it there. He has her make and compare sliders for everything and has her taking notes and describing the goats recovery to her science class. Hmmmm. Thank you!

my new and first pair of Nubian does kids I am picking up my Nubian buck kid tomorrow. The girls the taller one is Lilly the smaller one is Daisy. They are so sweet both of them just want to sit in my lap and be petted lol the goobers also have an obsession licking my face and arms and anywhere they can get to. They mostly lick every once in awhile before they feed they nibble. The sweet girls they also try to get me to play with them which is hard to resist considering they start bouncing around me.

They are adorable! :love Isn't it fun to play with them? I play with my Boers all the time. It's hilarious to see these ginormous goats bouncing around the yard after me.

Awwww, sweeties!

That's a great idea, sounds like there is a good chance he might.

I asked my daughter about it and she got really excited. I printed off that website instructions and sent a note in to teacher so we'll see! If pay vet for it too but seems like a fun learning option. Thanks again.
