Lets talk about goats!

hello everyone who owns goats.

i may not be looking at goats right now, but how is goat meat? i heard that its healthy for you and every where a read it says it taste good but what are you guys opinions on goat meat (i know its the most consumed meat in the world)

My father says that the best meat he ever had was BBQ goat. Personally never tried it and my dad could eat anything, but like said goats are the most popular livestock in many third world countries. I am sure there are tons of recipes to doctor up the meat also.

I say go for it, its good to experience sustainability. Just make sure you know what you are doing and make sure from the start that it is clear that this is food not a pet.

Lilly is 7 days old Daisy is five days old and I was told four times a day I offer 16 oz bottle but they tend to drink only six oz.

Ok there is the problem. They should be fed a lot less in a bottle and more fequently. They should get a bottle every four to six hours and it should only be about 4 ounces. At two to four weeks every 6 to 8 hours at 4 to 6 ounces. At 4 weeks to 8 weeks, 4 bottles a day and you can up them to about 10 ounces and then at 8 weeks and up, 3 bottles a day at 16 to 20 ounces. These amounts are for regular size breeds, not the pygmys or dwarfs. Make sure for the first month, their bottles are warmed up to about 100 degrees. They can't digest it, if the temp isn't the same as their body temp.
